King’s Daughters Medical Center, in conjunction with the Kentucky Heart Foundation, is offering free Heart Scans to eligible persons in our area. Heart Scan is a simple, painless CT exam that takes less than 10 minutes. Heart Scan detects minute levels of calcium inside the coronary arteries. Calcium and plaque combine to clog arteries, which can lead to a heart attack. Who’s eligible This screening exam is open to individuals age 45 to 65 who have: Never been diagnosed or told they have heart disease Never had a cardiac catheterization or stent Never had open heart surgery or other heart procedure Never been treated by a cardiologist or other heart specialist
